A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the duration of a special open hunting season |
|
|
restricted to persons under 17 years old. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 61.058(a), Parks and Wildlife Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) The commission may provide for special open seasons |
|
|
during which the taking and possession of game animals and game |
|
|
birds are restricted to persons under 17 years old. A special open |
|
|
season under this section may not be shorter than seven consecutive |
|
|
days. |
|
|
SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date |
|
|
of this Act, the Parks and Wildlife Commission shall adopt or amend |
|
|
rules as necessary to comply with the changes in law made by this |
|
|
Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
