A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to certifying the Railroad Commission of Texas as the |
|
|
independent organization for the ERCOT power region. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 39.151, Utilities Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c-1) Notwithstanding any other law, the commission shall |
|
|
decertify an independent organization that was certified under this |
|
|
section for the ERCOT power region before September 1, 2021, and |
|
|
certify the Railroad Commission of Texas as the successor |
|
|
organization for that power region. A reference in law to an |
|
|
independent organization certified under this section for the ERCOT |
|
|
power region means the Railroad Commission of Texas. A provision of |
|
|
this chapter that grants the commission oversight over the budget |
|
|
of an independent organization does not apply to the Railroad |
|
|
Commission of Texas. Subsections (d-1), (d-2), (d-3), (d-4), (e), |
|
|
(e-1), (g), (g-1), (h), and (i) do not apply to the Railroad |
|
|
Commission of Texas. Sections 39.1511 and 39.1512 do not apply to |
|
|
the Railroad Commission of Texas. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
