A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the reporting of broadband speeds by Internet service |
|
|
providers to the governor's broadband development council. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 490H, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 490H.0071 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 490H.0071. SPEED REPORTING. The council shall request |
|
|
from each provider of broadband Internet access service in this |
|
|
state a report on broadband speeds provided by the provider based on |
|
|
a reasonable sample. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
