A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to prohibiting the secretary of state from waiving or |
|
|
suspending the application of certain election law provisions. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 31, Election Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 31.0015 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 31.0015. PROHIBITION OF WAIVER. Except as provided by |
|
|
a provision of this code, the secretary of state may not waive or |
|
|
suspend the application of a provision of this code or a rule |
|
|
adopted under this code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
