A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the definition of bicycle. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 541.201(2), Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(2) "Bicycle" means a device that a person may ride and |
|
|
that: |
|
|
(A) is capable of being ridden solely using human |
|
|
power; and |
|
|
(B) either: |
|
|
(i) has two tandem wheels at least one of |
|
|
which is more than 14 inches in diameter; or |
|
|
(ii) is generally recognized as a bicycle, |
|
|
regardless of the number of wheels on the device. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
