A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the compensatory education allotment for homeless |
|
|
students or students in foster care under the Foundation School |
|
|
Program. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 48.104, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (e-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e-1) For each student who is a homeless child or youth as |
|
|
defined by 42 U.S.C. Section 11434a or in the conservatorship of the |
|
|
Department of Family and Protective Services, a school district is |
|
|
entitled to an annual allotment equal to the basic allotment |
|
|
multiplied by 2.41. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
