A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the duty of a residential landlord to send notification |
|
|
of an interruption in water service. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 92.008, Property Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-1) If for any reason water service furnished to a tenant |
|
|
is interrupted, the landlord must promptly notify the utility |
|
|
company that is responsible for providing water service of the |
|
|
interruption in service, including a utility company operated by a |
|
|
political subdivision. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
