H.C.R. No. 74
 
 
 
HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The retirement of five esteemed volunteers for the
  Texoma Exposition and Livestock Show provides a fitting opportunity
  to recognize them for their long and distinguished service; and
         WHEREAS, A beloved tradition in Grayson County, the annual
  Texoma Exposition and Livestock Show allows area students to
  develop and showcase their skills in animal husbandry, mechanics,
  and creative arts and crafts; and
         WHEREAS, Each year, numerous volunteers oversee the
  competitions and work to ensure the event's success; following 46
  years with the exposition and livestock show, Mary Nan Story of
  Whitesboro is concluding her tenure as treasurer and superintendent
  of the clothing division; Aurelia Holcomb and Mary Reed of Gunter
  recently stepped down as craft superintendents, having each
  volunteered for four and a half decades; in addition, Cathy Rains of
  Sherman is leaving her post as show superintendent after 25 years of
  service to the organization, and Martha Mears of Denison, who has
  also served for 25 years, is retiring as secretary; and
         WHEREAS, By giving generously of their time and talents to
  the Texoma Exposition and Livestock Show, these dynamic women have
  made a positive difference in the lives of countless young Texans,
  and they may indeed reflect with pride on their invaluable
  contributions; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 87th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby commend Mary Nan Story, Aurelia Holcomb, Mary Reed, Cathy
  Rains, and Martha Mears for their many years of service to the
  Texoma Exposition and Livestock Show and extend to them sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for these exceptional volunteers as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
