CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, Maria M. Ramirez is retiring from the Texas Health
  and Human Services Commission in Midland on May 31, 2021, drawing to
  a close a notable career in public service that has spanned nearly
  three decades; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her exemplary 29-year tenure with
  HHSC, Ms. Ramirez has worked in the Access and Eligibility Services
  division, where she embodies the unit's core values of respect,
  ownership, collaboration, and integrity; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Ms. Ramirez has earned the
  respect and admiration of her clients and her colleagues alike as a
  highly motivated and compassionate individual with a commitment to
  helping the most vulnerable citizens of Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Ramirez's dedication, professionalism, and
  expertise have greatly benefited the mission of HHSC, and she may
  indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as she embarks on
  the next exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 87th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby congratulate Maria M. Ramirez on her retirement from the
  Texas Health and Human Services Commission and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Ramirez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
