A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment clarifying the Texas |
|
|
Constitution does not secure or protect the right to an abortion or |
|
|
require the expenditure of public money for an abortion. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Article I, Texas Constitution, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 35 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 35. Nothing in this constitution shall be construed to |
|
|
secure or protect the right to obtain an abortion or to require the |
|
|
expenditure of public money for the performance of an abortion. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment clarifying the Texas |
|
|
Constitution does not secure or protect the right to an abortion or |
|
|
require the expenditure of public money for an abortion." |
