R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Rick Crowley is retiring as Rockwall city manager on |
|
January 31, 2021, drawing to a close a remarkable career in public |
|
service that has spanned more than four decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Crowley first joined the City of Rockwall in |
|
1984, when he accepted a job as an administrative assistant; he went |
|
on to lead the parks and recreation, public works, and municipal |
|
services departments before becoming assistant city manager in |
|
1998, and he was chosen as the new city manager in 2012; and |
|
WHEREAS, During his time in Rockwall, Mr. Crowley has played |
|
a vital role in its growth from a small town to a bustling city, |
|
overseeing such important developments as the expansion of the |
|
city's parks and recreation system, the creation of The Harbor |
|
retail center, and the transition to a combined paid-volunteer fire |
|
department; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Crowley previously worked for the municipal |
|
government in Burleson and served as city manager for Colorado |
|
City; and |
|
WHEREAS, Rick Crowley's adept and forward-looking leadership |
|
has helped guide Rockwall through a transformative period in its |
|
history, and his many valuable contributions will continue to |
|
resonate in the years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Rick Crowley on his retirement as |
|
Rockwall city manager and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Crowley as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
