R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The celebration of Career and Technical Education |
|
|
Month in February 2021 presents a fitting opportunity to pay |
|
|
tribute to the importance of career and technical education in the |
|
|
Lone Star State and to recognize the CTE programs offered by the |
|
|
school districts in House District 18; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Encompassing classroom learning, certification |
|
|
programs, and work-based opportunities, CTE prepares students for |
|
|
rewarding careers in such high-growth fields as health care, |
|
|
information technology, advanced manufacturing, hospitality, and |
|
|
management; in Texas, CTE is delivered at the secondary and |
|
|
postsecondary levels on the campuses of high schools, magnet |
|
|
schools, career academies, and community, state, and technical |
|
|
colleges; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, CTE learning has been a priority for the school |
|
|
districts in House District 18, with comprehensive programs being |
|
|
offered in the Coldspring-Oakhurst Consolidated Independent School |
|
|
District and the Cleveland, Dayton, Devers, Hardin, Hull-Daisetta, |
|
|
Huntsville, Liberty, New Waverly, Richards, Shepherd, Tarkington, |
|
|
Trinity, and Willis Independent School Districts; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Career and technical education is offering a path to |
|
|
success in the 21st-century economy while helping to address the |
|
|
urgent need for skilled labor in high-demand industries, and the |
|
|
CTE students and teachers of Texas are playing a vital role in the |
|
|
future prosperity of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the career and technical education |
|
|
programs offered by the school districts in House District 18 on the |
|
|
occasion of CTE Month in February 2021 and extend to the students |
|
|
and educators sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the school districts as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
