R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived remain to comfort the |
|
family and friends of Robert Marion Estes of Parker County, who |
|
passed away on November 19, 2020, at the age of 87; and |
|
WHEREAS, Bob Estes was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on October |
|
16, 1933, to Charles Gullard Estes and Daisy Brown Estes, and he |
|
grew up with the companionship of a brother, Charles; after |
|
graduating from Treadwell High School in 1951, he enrolled at the |
|
University of Tennessee, where he earned a bachelor's degree in |
|
business administration; while there, he pledged Lambda Chi Alpha |
|
Fraternity; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Estes was drafted into the United States Army in |
|
1954, and he went on to serve as a high-speed radio operator in |
|
Germany; after returning stateside, he wed the former Carolyn Hull, |
|
with whom he shared 60 years of marriage until her passing; he |
|
excelled in his career as a gear designer for International |
|
Harvester, an agricultural and automotive manufacturer, and was |
|
later promoted to its corporate general offices in Chicago, |
|
Illinois, to work in labor relations; in 1969, he moved to Fort |
|
Worth, where he was employed as an industrial engineer for 28 years |
|
and notably developed computerized methods for estimating machine |
|
work; and |
|
WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Estes was blessed with two |
|
sons, Robert and David, two granddaughters, Emily and Elizabeth, |
|
and a great-granddaughter, Caroline, along with many nieces and |
|
nephews; he loved the outdoors and enjoyed taking hunting trips |
|
with his sons and granddaughters; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Bob Estes is deeply missed, he will forever |
|
be remembered with great admiration and affection by those he |
|
leaves behind; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Marion Estes |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
sons, Robert Franklin Estes and his wife, Linda, and David Carlton |
|
Estes and his wife, Marybeth; to his granddaughters, Emily Ann |
|
Bolender and her husband, Gabriel, and Elizabeth Ann Estes; to his |
|
great-granddaughter, Caroline Olivia Bolender; to his |
|
sister-in-law, Bobbie Hull; and to his other relatives and friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert |
|
Marion Estes. |
