R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by
  only a select few, and the attainment of this significant honor by
  Brian Richard Cassaday heralds a future bright with opportunity and
  promise; and
         WHEREAS, A junior at Lumberton High School, Mr. Cassaday has
  mastered a number of important skills in his quest to become an
  Eagle Scout; he has earned 36 merit badges requiring expertise in
  such diverse areas as first aid, personal fitness, and
  environmental science, as well as 3 Eagle Palm awards; moreover, he
  has gained experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking
  his Eagle Scout project, which involved organizing and building a
  450-foot-long fence around the pumpkin patch at Woodcrest United
  Methodist Church; and
         WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has ably served his peers in
  Scouts BSA Troop No. 9 in a designated position of responsibility,
  and in so doing, he has exemplified the many positive traits for
  which Boy Scouts are renowned; and
         WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for
  attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Brian Cassaday has demonstrated
  an unwavering commitment to Scouts BSA and its ideals, and the
  knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the way will indeed
  serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Brian Richard Cassaday on
  achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Cassaday as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
