R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the |
|
passing of Robert Castañeda of San Antonio on February 10, 2020, at |
|
the age of 88; and |
|
WHEREAS, A San Antonio native, Robert Castañeda was born on |
|
November 23, 1931, to Pedro and Genoveva Castañeda, and he grew up |
|
with the companionship of a brother, Jesus, and two sisters, Esther |
|
and Evangelina; he and his wife, Victoria Castañeda, enjoyed 48 |
|
years of marriage and raised two sons, Robert and Ross; in later |
|
life, he was blessed with numerous grandchildren and |
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Castañeda served as a devoted caregiver to his |
|
wife for years until her passing in 2002; he enjoyed working in the |
|
yard with her, and he was also fond of traveling to Las Vegas; in |
|
addition, he took pleasure in watching football and cheering on his |
|
home basketball team, the San Antonio Spurs; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Robert Castañeda will be greatly missed, he |
|
has left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that they |
|
will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Castañeda and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his sons, |
|
Robert Castañeda Jr. and his wife, Gina, and Ross Castañeda and his |
|
wife, Janeth; to his sisters, Esther Resendez and Evangelina |
|
Velasquez; to his grandchildren, Andrea, Robert, Angela and her |
|
husband, Kris, and Victoria; to his great-grandchildren, Gabriel, |
|
Robert, Lauren, Kristopher, Rachel, Izabella Victoria, and Roman; |
|
to his nieces, nephews, and cousins; and to his other relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert |
|
Castañeda. |
