R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ivan Mendoza, a standout football player at Robert |
|
|
Vela High School, has achieved further distinction with his |
|
|
selection to the 2020 Whataburger Super Team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sponsored by Whataburger and Dave Campbell's Texas |
|
|
Football magazine, the Super Team honors a group of elite Texas high |
|
|
school players for their performances during the 2020 season; in |
|
|
choosing the squad, fans from across the Lone Star State cast more |
|
|
than 300,000 ballots on the TexasFootball.com website, and the |
|
|
final lineup includes 40 athletes, including eight "Fan's Choice" |
|
|
selections; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Mendoza was recognized for his outstanding |
|
|
accomplishments as a defensive back for the Vela Sabercats, and his |
|
|
efforts helped the team claim the district title and advance to the |
|
|
area round of the 6A Division 2 playoffs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The gridiron success that Ivan Mendoza has enjoyed |
|
|
is a testament to his exceptional skill and determination, and he is |
|
|
indeed deserving of this prestigious accolade; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ivan Mendoza on his selection to |
|
|
the 2020 Whataburger Super Team and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Mendoza as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
