R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of Operation Orange, a youth-led
  organization in Richardson, are taking a stand for justice,
  equality, and social change; and
         WHEREAS, During the summer of 2020, four young women,
  MacKenzie Mitchell, Isabella Marcano, Monique Mitchell, and Autumn
  Ray, came together with the goals of bringing awareness to racial
  inequality, empowering youth, and advancing progress in and beyond
  their community; and
         WHEREAS, The group was spurred to take action as outrage over
  instances of police brutality intensified in 2020, and they went on
  to participate in a number of peaceful demonstrations in an effort
  to raise awareness of the issue and fight for meaningful change; in
  addition, the group has partnered with the City of Richardson Parks
  and Recreation Department to organize a series of community
  clean-up events to help reduce litter and beautify local green
  spaces; and
         WHEREAS, These exceptional young Texans have demonstrated
  inspiring leadership, compassion, and determination in all their
  endeavors, and by having the courage to make their voices heard,
  they are helping to change the world for the better; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Operation Orange for its civic and
  political engagement and extend to its members sincere best wishes
  for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
