R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Olivia Uribe has been named the 2020-2021 Teacher of |
|
the Year at Tornillo Intermediate School; and |
|
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Uribe currently teaches third grade at Tornillo |
|
Intermediate School; a team lead and mentor, she has helped new |
|
faculty better understand state standards, and she has guided other |
|
teachers in her grade level through discussions about content and |
|
assessments as well as in the use of various digital platforms and |
|
resources during the pandemic; moreover, she cares deeply about her |
|
students and maintains a nurturing yet challenging classroom |
|
environment; and |
|
WHEREAS, Olivia Uribe exemplifies the passion, |
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
best educators, and she has set a standard of excellence to which |
|
all in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Olivia Uribe on her selection as |
|
the 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year at Tornillo Intermediate School |
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her |
|
important work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Uribe as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
