R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, El Paso Community College has been ranked first in
  the nation for most associate's degrees granted to Hispanic
  students; and
         WHEREAS, In the 2021 list compiled by Hispanic Outlook on
  Education magazine, EPCC sits at the top with nearly 3,000
  associate's degrees awarded to Hispanic students during the
  2018-2019 school year; this marks the 16th consecutive year that
  the college has earned the number one ranking; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of more than five decades, the
  faculty and staff of EPCC have worked tirelessly to support
  students from all walks of life, including those from traditionally
  underserved populations; under the able leadership of president
  Dr. William Serrata, the college has made significant
  contributions to the vitality of its community by helping countless
  individuals obtain the skills they need to continue their studies
  or advance their careers; and
         WHEREAS, Through its steadfast commitment to accessible,
  high-quality education, El Paso Community College has provided its
  students with a strong foundation on which to build, and the school
  is indeed deserving of the national recognition it has received;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend El Paso Community College on ranking
  first in the nation for most associate's degrees granted to
  Hispanic students and extend to all those involved with the school
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for El Paso Community College as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
