R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Rarely have the members of the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives seen anything as spectacular in the halls of the |
|
|
Capitol as the moustache of the Honorable Andrew Murr, the |
|
|
representative for District 53; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Before making its show-stopping debut in the Texas |
|
|
Legislature, Representative Murr's impressive handlebar moustache |
|
|
was previously employed in the movie Tombstone, where it graced the |
|
|
upper lip of Kurt Russell during the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, |
|
|
and it is distantly related to the somewhat curlier moustache of |
|
|
Snidely Whiplash, the bushier moustache of Tom Selleck, and the |
|
|
more fastidiously trimmed moustache of Clark Gable; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The latest in the proud tradition of manly facial |
|
|
hair, this is truly a Murr-stache for the ages, a magnificent, |
|
|
two-fisted soup-strainer that will haunt the dreams of |
|
|
Representative Murr's colleagues and constituents and echo through |
|
|
the annals of Texas lore for as long as the Lone Star flag waves over |
|
|
the rugged bluffs and canyons of the Hill Country; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize Representative Andrew Murr's |
|
|
moustache as the Official Moustache of the House of Representatives |
|
|
of the 87th Texas Legislature and that the representative be |
|
|
commended for adding some dashing frontier flair to the house |
|
|
chamber. |
