R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
  a close with the passing of Potter County assistant fire chief Pat
  Fitzpatrick on August 29, 2020, at the age of 63; and
         WHEREAS, Pat Fitzpatrick was born in Fort Worth on December
  21, 1956, and he grew up with the companionship of his sister,
  Sandra; after graduating from high school in Irving, he went on to
  earn a bachelor's degree in computer science from Texas A&M
  University in 1979; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Fitzpatrick worked at Micro Mic's and A1
  Communications before becoming a paramedic in 1994; a year later,
  he began volunteering with Potter County Fire & Rescue, and in 1999
  he became a full-time firefighter with the department; a leader in
  his profession, he taught at the Amarillo College Regional Fire
  Academy, and he worked with Amarillo Emergency Services for more
  than two decades; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, he benefited from the love and
  support of his wife, Marsha, and he took great pride in his
  daughter, Kim; through the years, he had the pleasure of seeing his
  family grow to include two granddaughters, Lisa and Ali, and a
  great-granddaughter, Taylor; in his leisure time, he enjoyed
  reading, bowling, and watching Professional Bull Riders; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted family man and a dedicated public servant,
  Pat Fitzpatrick gave freely of his time and expertise to better his
  community, and he leaves behind a record of service that his loved
  ones can remember with pride; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Pat Fitzpatrick and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Marsha Fitzpatrick; to his daughter, Kim Huffman; to his
  sister, Sandra; to his granddaughters, Lisa Lovelady and her
  husband, Brad, and Ali Jones and her fiancé, Nam Nguyen; to his
  great-granddaughter, Taylor Lovelady; and to his other relatives
  and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Pat
  Fitzpatrick.
