H.R. No. 977

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Association of Builders are celebrating Texas Association of Builders Day on November 23, 2021, to mark the organization's 75th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, An affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders, TAB was founded in 1946 when a group of Texas home builders met in Dallas to establish an organization dedicated to fostering a positive business environment for the housing industry; in the years since, TAB has grown to include 26 local associations and nearly 10,000 members; and

WHEREAS, TAB strives to address issues that impact the industry through its many programs and initiatives, such as the Grassroots Advocacy & Action Center, the HOMEPAC political action committee, and the Texas Builders Foundation, which facilitates charitable activities; in addition, the association recognizes leaders in home building through the Texas Housing Hall of Honor and the Star Awards, and it hosts one of the largest industry events in North America, the Sunbelt Builders Show; and

WHEREAS, Residential housing is essential to the state's economy, and all those who are part of the Texas Association of Builders are truly deserving of special recognition for their contributions; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas Legislature hereby recognize November 23, 2021, as Texas Association of Builders Day and extend to the organization's members sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
