R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The World's Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade and |
|
|
Palooza is marking its 10th anniversary on March 18-19, 2022; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, First held in 2012, the annual celebration takes |
|
|
place in Mansfield, the official Pickle Capital of Texas, and it has |
|
|
grown to attract tens of thousands of visitors each year; |
|
|
festivities include pickle eating contests, live music, a retail |
|
|
vendor market, and the Pickle Parade and Palooza, which features |
|
|
dozens of floats and marching groups; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Pickle Parade and Palooza is organized by the |
|
|
Pickled Mansfield Society, a volunteer nonprofit group that |
|
|
provides college scholarships to area students and supports the |
|
|
local Feed the Kids program; in addition, the event is presented by |
|
|
the Mansfield Pickle Queens, who contribute to their community by |
|
|
hosting and participating in a number of charitable events; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Pickle Parade and Palooza |
|
|
has delighted area residents and visitors alike by offering |
|
|
opportunities for fun and fellowship, and all those who contribute |
|
|
to the success of the event are indeed deserving of special |
|
|
recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 10th anniversary of the World's |
|
|
Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade and Palooza and extend to its |
|
|
sponsors, organizers, and attendees sincere best wishes for an |
|
|
enjoyable and memorable event. |
