R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of former
  Bedford Fire Chief James Lauren Tindell, who passed away on April
  28, 2021, at the age of 60; and
         WHEREAS, Jim Tindell was born to Dean Tindell and Joyce
  Dombrowski on December 27, 1960, in Fort Worth and grew up with a
  brother, Paul; a member of the Class of 1979 at L. D. Bell High
  School in Hurst, he began a career in emergency response at the age
  of 16, when he became a volunteer with the Bedford Fire Department;
  he rose through the ranks to eventually become fire chief, and he
  retired on May 17, 2016, after nearly four decades with the
  department; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family, Mr. Tindell enjoyed 38
  years of marriage with his wife, Shawn, and he took great pride in
  their children, Chris and Rachel; with the passing years, he was
  further blessed with two grandchildren, Joie and James; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Tindell took an active role in his community,
  giving freely of his time and talents to youth organizations such as
  the Mid-Cities Pee Wee Football and Cheerleading Association and
  the local Bedford swim team; his favorite pastimes included
  camping, fishing on the Gulf, riding his Harley-Davidson
  motorcycle, and listening to rock and roll; and
         WHEREAS, Kind and generous, Jim Tindell earned the admiration
  and affection of all who knew him, and he leaves behind a record of
  service that his loved ones can remember with pride; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of James Lauren
  Tindell and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Shawn Tindell; to his son, Chris Tindell, and
  his wife, Marisa; to his daughter, Rachel DeChard, and her husband,
  Patrick; to his grandchildren, Joie and James; and to all who mourn
  his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jim
  Tindell.
