R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Fort Bend County has been identified as one of the |
|
|
most diverse counties in the United States; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Chinese Americans make up a significant portion of |
|
|
the county's population of more than 800,000, and they have made |
|
|
important contributions to all facets of life in the area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although Chinese American business owners have |
|
|
faced a number of challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, these |
|
|
skilled entrepreneurs have demonstrated impressive resiliency and |
|
|
dedication to Fort Bend County by continuing to serve local |
|
|
residents and further the economic prosperity of the area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Locally owned businesses make a welcome |
|
|
contribution to the vitality and distinct character of their |
|
|
communities, and the Chinese American business owners of Fort Bend |
|
|
County set an inspiring example for their fellow Texans; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the Chinese American business owners of |
|
|
Fort Bend County for their service to their communities and extend |
|
|
to them sincere best wishes for the future. |
