R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Chris Fletcher was sworn in as the 22nd mayor of |
|
|
Burleson on November 17, 2020; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Mayor |
|
|
Fletcher will draw on a wealth of valuable experience; he was raised |
|
|
on a farm in Haskell County and learned the value of hard work at an |
|
|
early age; he began his career in 1970 at Texas Instruments in |
|
|
Lubbock, working in process improvement, and he went on to |
|
|
establish his own business, Texas Overhead Door, in 1986; by the |
|
|
time he sold it in 2019, he had expanded the enterprise to four |
|
|
states; he continues to serve as a manufacturing consultant; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Burleson, Mr. Fletcher has |
|
|
contributed to his community as a board member for the Burleson Area |
|
|
Chamber of Commerce and Your Harvest House, and he has been a deacon |
|
|
at Burleson Church of Christ for 20 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Fletcher enjoys the love |
|
|
and support of his wife, Nancy, with whom he has shared 41 years; |
|
|
they have been blessed with two children and a two-year-old |
|
|
granddaughter; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the |
|
|
able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Chris |
|
|
Fletcher may indeed take pride in his accomplishments as he takes on |
|
|
this challenging new role; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Chris Fletcher on his election as |
|
|
mayor of Burleson and extend to him sincere best wishes for a |
|
|
successful tenure; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mayor Fletcher as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
