R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jaime Resendez was reelected as the District 5 |
|
|
representative on the Dallas City Council in May 2021, providing a |
|
|
welcome opportunity to recognize the exemplary leadership he has |
|
|
demonstrated over the course of his tenure; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since first taking office in 2019, Mr. Resendez has |
|
|
worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Dallas residents by |
|
|
increasing access to wraparound services; moreover, he has been |
|
|
instrumental in acquiring property for a town center and in |
|
|
proposing the development of a park; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling his duties, Mr. Resendez draws on a |
|
|
wealth of valuable experience; a former trustee of the Dallas |
|
|
Independent School District, he helped establish the School for the |
|
|
Talented and Gifted in Pleasant Grove, and he supported a number of |
|
|
educational programs and improvements to campuses; in addition, he |
|
|
served as an engineer in the U.S. Army, and he holds degrees from |
|
|
Eastfield Community College and the University of North Texas at |
|
|
Dallas, as well as a law degree from The University of Texas School |
|
|
of Law; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The effective operation of municipal government |
|
|
depends on the able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, |
|
|
and Jaime Resendez may indeed take pride in his outstanding record |
|
|
of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jaime Resendez on his reelection to |
|
|
the Dallas City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
another successful term in office; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Resendez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
