R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Paula Blackmon was reelected as the District 9 |
|
|
representative on the Dallas City Council in May 2021, providing a |
|
|
welcome opportunity to recognize the exemplary leadership she has |
|
|
demonstrated over the course of her tenure; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, First elected in 2019, Ms. Blackmon draws on a |
|
|
wealth of knowledge in issues related to economic development, |
|
|
housing, education, and transportation; a lifelong Texan and a |
|
|
resident of East Dallas for 25 years, she has worked as a political |
|
|
strategist for campaigns at every level of government; in addition, |
|
|
she has served as the director of public affairs for The Real Estate |
|
|
Council, where she played an instrumental role in securing funding |
|
|
for the construction of Klyde Warren Park; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The effective operation of municipal government |
|
|
depends on the able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, |
|
|
and Paula Blackmon may indeed take pride in her outstanding record |
|
|
of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Paula Blackmon on her reelection to |
|
|
the Dallas City Council and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
another successful term in office; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Blackmon as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
