R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Omar Narvaez was reelected as the District 6 |
|
|
representative on the Dallas City Council in May 2021, providing a |
|
|
welcome opportunity to recognize the exemplary leadership he has |
|
|
demonstrated over the course of his tenure; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since first taking office in 2017, Mr. Narvaez has |
|
|
worked to establish a new regional aquatics facility, to bring |
|
|
Nokia North American headquarters to Dallas, and to negotiate for |
|
|
local hiring and a $15-an-hour minimum wage at the Amazon |
|
|
distribution facility; he was named Dallas City Council Member of |
|
|
the Year by the Dallas Observer in 2018; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The effective operation of municipal government |
|
|
depends on the able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, |
|
|
and Omar Narvaez may indeed take pride in his outstanding record of |
|
|
achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Omar Narvaez on his reelection to |
|
|
the Dallas City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
another successful term in office; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Narvaez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
