R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Benjamin Reid Jowers has ably served his fellow |
|
Texans as assistant committee director for the House Homeland |
|
Security and Public Safety Committee during the 87th Legislative |
|
Session; and |
|
WHEREAS, Reid Jowers has provided vital assistance to the |
|
committee's chair, State Representative James White, and its other |
|
members as they have dealt with issues related to law enforcement, |
|
crime prevention, security services, and homeland security; and |
|
WHEREAS, Hailing from Beaumont, Mr. Jowers earned a |
|
bachelor's degree in journalism from The University of Texas at |
|
Austin as well as a certificate in security studies from the |
|
Clements Center for National Security; he is currently pursuing a |
|
master's degree in global policy studies at UT's Lyndon B. Johnson |
|
School of Public Affairs; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Jowers has completed internships with the |
|
Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training, the Jefferson |
|
County Sheriff's Office, and the Austin Chronicle, and he has |
|
served as a reporter with Reporting Texas and as a clerk with the |
|
Bernsen Law Firm; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his skill, professionalism, and commitment |
|
to excellence, Reid Jowers has made significant contributions to |
|
the Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee, and he is indeed |
|
deserving of recognition for his outstanding record of achievement; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Benjamin Reid Jowers for his service as |
|
assistant committee director for the House Homeland Security and |
|
Public Safety Committee in the office of State Representative James |
|
White and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in |
|
all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Jowers as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
