R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Henry Rivera has been reelected to the El Paso City |
|
|
Council in 2020; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Mr. Rivera |
|
|
will draw on a wealth of valuable experience; he was initially |
|
|
elected to the city council in May 2017, and he ably represented |
|
|
District 7 and its residents during his first term; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A 1976 graduate of Jefferson High School, Mr. Rivera |
|
|
joined the El Paso Police Department in 1982; he went on to work |
|
|
there for nearly three and a half decades, serving the department as |
|
|
a school resource officer and in undercover and supervisory roles; |
|
|
active in his professional community, he has held leadership |
|
|
positions with the El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association; |
|
|
he is also a valued member of St. Raphael Parish; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|
|
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the |
|
|
continuing efforts of Henry Rivera will help to make El Paso an even |
|
|
better place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Henry Rivera on his reelection to |
|
|
the El Paso City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for a |
|
|
successful tenure; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Rivera as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
