R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Henry Rivera has been reelected to the El Paso City
  Council in 2020; and
         WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Mr. Rivera
  will draw on a wealth of valuable experience; he was initially
  elected to the city council in May 2017, and he ably represented
  District 7 and its residents during his first term; and
         WHEREAS, A 1976 graduate of Jefferson High School, Mr. Rivera
  joined the El Paso Police Department in 1982; he went on to work
  there for nearly three and a half decades, serving the department as
  a school resource officer and in undercover and supervisory roles;
  active in his professional community, he has held leadership
  positions with the El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association;
  he is also a valued member of St. Raphael Parish; and
         WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of
  life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the
  continuing efforts of Henry Rivera will help to make El Paso an even
  better place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Henry Rivera on his reelection to
  the El Paso City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for a
  successful tenure; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Rivera as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
