R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, MacKenzie McCulloch, a senior at Woodrow Wilson High
  School in Dallas, has been selected as a member of the 2021 5A
  All-State Band by the Texas Music Educators Association; and
         WHEREAS, The TMEA All-State designation is the highest honor
  a Texas high school music student can receive; beginning each fall,
  more than 70,000 students from across the state begin the audition
  process by playing for a panel of judges at the regional level;
  select musicians advance to compete in eight TMEA area contests,
  where the highest-ranked performers qualify for the All-State Band;
  and
         WHEREAS, Ms. McCulloch turned in an exemplary showing at the
  Region 20 tryout to move on to the 5A Area Wind Ensemble audition;
  making her third-straight All-Area appearance, she placed first
  among the field of 20 competitors, becoming the first individual
  player from her high school to be named to the All-State Band in 35
  years; and
         WHEREAS, Selection to an All-State Band reflects exceptional
  skill and an unwavering commitment to excellence, and this gifted
  young Texan may indeed take pride in this notable achievement; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate MacKenzie McCulloch on her
  selection to the Texas Music Educators Association 5A All-State
  Band and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. McCulloch as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
