R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The choir members from Moody High School in Corpus |
|
|
Christi achieved great distinction by winning sweepstakes honors |
|
|
with their performance in the 2021 University Interscholastic |
|
|
League Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Moody choir excelled in both components of the |
|
|
evaluation, demonstrating a mastery of preparing songs from a |
|
|
prescribed list in the concert portion and in learning to sing a |
|
|
specific musical piece within a short amount of time in the |
|
|
sight-reading portion; this marked the first year that the Moody |
|
|
choir earned a superior rating in both parts of the judging; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of choir director San |
|
|
Juana Rodriguez, the Moody choir received valuable contributions |
|
|
from each member of the ensemble in realizing this notable |
|
|
accomplishment; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through countless hours of preparation and an |
|
|
unwavering commitment to excellence, the members of the Moody High |
|
|
choir have proven themselves elite performers, and they are indeed |
|
|
deserving of recognition for a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Moody High School choir on |
|
|
winning sweepstakes honors with its performance at the 2021 UIL |
|
|
Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation and extend to all those |
|
|
associated with the choir sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the choir as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
