R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
  memories of Bryan James Boyd, who passed away on May 7, 2021, at the
  age of 87; and
         WHEREAS, The son of William and Mary Boyd, Bryan Boyd was born
  in Three Rivers on February 25, 1934; after graduating from Three
  Rivers High School, he studied at The University of Texas at Austin
  and then began his career at Pleasanton Pharmacy, where he met his
  future wife, Francine Dobbins; he was drafted into the U.S. Army in
  1956, and he served in Korea until 1958; and
         WHEREAS, Returning home, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd established
  Boyd's Pharmacy in Pleasanton, and after the business was sold in
  1987, Mr. Boyd became director of pharmacy at Tri-City Community
  Hospital in Jourdanton, holding the position for more than two
  decades; a man of strong religious faith, Mr. Boyd was a dedicated
  member of First Baptist Church of Pleasanton, and he was also
  president of the local Rotary club and a member of the Masons; and
         WHEREAS, In retirement, Mr. Boyd traveled around the country
  and the world with his wife, with whom he shared a loving union that
  spanned 59 years until her death in 2018; he took great pride in
  their three children, Valerie, Denise, and Brad, and eight
  grandchildren, and he supported them in all their activities; he
  also enjoyed following the fortunes of the Dallas Cowboys, the UT
  Longhorns, and the San Antonio Spurs, and he was an avid
  outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman as well as a founding member of
  the Pleasanton Bass Club; and
         WHEREAS, Lively, good-humored, and affectionate, Bryan Boyd
  was a devoted family man and a respected professional, and those who
  were privileged to share in his love and friendship will always
  remember him with great admiration and affection; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Bryan James Boyd and
  extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  children, Valerie Covey and her husband, Mark, Denise Ward and her
  husband, Ken, and Brad Boyd and his wife, Nan; to his grandchildren,
  Matthew Covey and his wife, Sarah, Zachary Covey, Joshua Covey,
  Emily Wilder and her husband, Austin, Natalie Ward, and Kasen Boyd;
  to his siblings, Peggy Mae McFarland, Mary Nell Dexter and her
  husband, Clyde, and Carie Boyd; and to his other relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bryan Boyd.
