R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Romeo Garcia of Rio Grande City, who passed away on July 7, 2020, |
|
at the age of 70; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Reynaldo and Manuela Garcia, Romeo Garcia |
|
was born on October 24, 1949, in Rio Grande City and grew up with six |
|
siblings, Reynaldo, Olga, Irma, Olgita, Alba, and Lupita; and |
|
WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Garcia |
|
served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 21 years; he also enjoyed a |
|
career with Zarsky Lumber that started out as an after-school job |
|
and went on to span more than four decades before he ultimately |
|
retired as manager; a valued member of his community, he was active |
|
in the Rotary Club and the Knights of Columbus; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Garcia drew strength |
|
from the rewarding marriage he shared with his wife, Nela, and he |
|
took great pride in his children, Romeo, Lisa, Lorena, and Rebecca; |
|
with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family |
|
grow to include several grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Romeo Garcia lived a rich and purposeful life, and |
|
he will forever remain a source of inspiration to those he leaves |
|
behind; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Romeo Garcia and |
|
extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Romeo |
|
Garcia. |
