A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the criteria for review by the Sunset Advisory |
|
|
Commission of a state agency. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 325, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 325.0124 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 325.0124. REVIEW OF EFFORTS REGARDING RACIAL |
|
|
DISPARITIES. As part of the commission's review of a state agency |
|
|
under this chapter, the commission and its staff shall assess the |
|
|
agency's efforts to reduce any racial disparities in the agency's |
|
|
performance of its functions. The commission staff shall notify |
|
|
the commission of any findings and recommendations. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
