A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the operation of the juvenile boards of Crosby and |
|
|
Lubbock Counties. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 152.0601, Human Resources Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: |
|
|
(g) The juvenile board of Crosby County and the juvenile |
|
|
boards of one or more counties that are adjacent to or in close |
|
|
proximity to Crosby County may agree to operate together with |
|
|
respect to all matters, or with respect to certain matters |
|
|
specified by the juvenile boards. Juvenile boards operating |
|
|
together may appoint one fiscal officer to receive and disburse |
|
|
funds for the boards. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 152.1581, Human Resources Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (i) to read as follows: |
|
|
(i) The juvenile board of Lubbock County and the juvenile |
|
|
boards of one or more counties that are adjacent to or in close |
|
|
proximity to Lubbock County may agree to operate together with |
|
|
respect to all matters, or with respect to certain matters |
|
|
specified by the juvenile boards. Juvenile boards operating |
|
|
together may appoint one fiscal officer to receive and disburse |
|
|
funds for the boards. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
