A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the criteria for review by the Sunset Advisory |
|
|
Commission of a state agency. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 325, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 325.0124 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 325.0124. REVIEW OF CLIMATE CHANGE PRACTICES. As part |
|
|
of the commission's review of a state agency under this chapter, the |
|
|
commission and its staff shall determine whether the agency is |
|
|
taking reasonable steps to assess the impact of climate change on |
|
|
the agency's activities and to mitigate those impacts during the |
|
|
next 12 years. The commission staff shall notify the commission of |
|
|
any findings and recommendations. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
