AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the composition of the cybersecurity council. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 2054.512(b), Government Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) The cybersecurity council must include: |
|
|
(1) one member who is an employee of the office of the |
|
|
governor; |
|
|
(2) one member of the senate appointed by the |
|
|
lieutenant governor; |
|
|
(3) one member of the house of representatives |
|
|
appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives; [and] |
|
|
(4) one member who is an employee of the Elections |
|
|
Division of the Office of the Secretary of State; and |
|
|
(5) additional members appointed by the state |
|
|
cybersecurity coordinator, including representatives of |
|
|
institutions of higher education and private sector leaders. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
