A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to substitutes for hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants
  applicable to commercial or residential buildings or construction.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Chapter 382, Health and Safety Code, is amended
  by adding Subchapter L to read as follows:
  SUBCHAPTER L.  REGULATION OF HYDROFLUOROCARBONS
         Sec. 382.551.  SUBSTITUTES FOR HYDROFLUOROCARBON
  REFRIGERANTS APPLICABLE TO COMMERCIAL OR RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS OR
  CONSTRUCTION. A building code or other requirement applicable to
  commercial or residential buildings or construction may not
  prohibit the use of a substitute refrigerant authorized pursuant to
  42 U.S.C. Section 7671k.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect January 1, 2023.
