A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the role of the secretary of state in elections. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

|
SECTION 1. Section 16.001(e), Election Code, is amended to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(e) The information required to be filed with the secretary |
|
|
of state under this section must be filed electronically. [The |
|
|
secretary of state may waive this requirement on application for a |
|
|
waiver submitted by the appropriate entity.] |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 127.201(f), Election Code, is repealed. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
