A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to license application procedures prescribed by the |
|
|
National Association of Insurance Commissioners for certain |
|
|
insurance adjusters. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 4101.052, Insurance Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) For the purpose of Subsection (a) as it relates to |
|
|
adjusters described by Section 4101.001(a)(1)(C), the commissioner |
|
|
shall prescribe the National Association of Insurance |
|
|
Commissioners Uniform Application for Individual Adjuster or |
|
|
Apprentice License/Registration as it existed on May 1, 2021. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 4101.053, Insurance Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e) The commissioner shall take any action necessary for |
|
|
this state to participate in and adopt the application procedures |
|
|
of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners National |
|
|
Insurance Producer Registry for the purpose of licensing and |
|
|
license renewal for independent adjusters described by Section |
|
|
4101.001(a)(1)(C). |
|
|
SECTION 3. The commissioner of insurance shall adopt rules |
|
|
to implement Section 4101.053(e), Insurance Code, as added by this |
|
|
Act, not later than December 1, 2022. |
|
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
