A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a study of certain Electric Reliability Council of |
|
|
Texas actions. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) The governor, with the advice and consent of |
|
|
the senate, shall appoint a person to conduct a study of the actions |
|
|
of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas taken during February |
|
|
2021 to respond to the extreme weather event of that month. |
|
|
(b) The person must have expertise in electricity markets. |
|
|
(c) The person shall submit a report of the findings of the |
|
|
study to the legislature. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
