A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to pathways to assist students in transitioning from high |
|
|
school to postsecondary education in cybersecurity. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 61, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 61.09093 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 61.09093. CYBERSECURITY PATHWAYS. The board shall |
|
|
collaborate with the Texas Education Agency to develop pathways to |
|
|
assist students in transitioning from cybersecurity coursework or |
|
|
training in high school to a degree or certificate program in |
|
|
cybersecurity at an institution of higher education. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
