SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
  WHEREAS, Eddie Garner Clement, an esteemed member of the
  Paris, Texas, community and a friend to many, passed away on January
  19, 2021, at the age of 55; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Ted Garner Clement and Carol Ann Clement,
  Eddie Clement was born on August 7, 1965, in Dallas and grew up in
  Duncanville with a sister, Eva; he completed his bachelor of
  business administration degree in management at The University of
  Texas at Arlington, where he made lasting friendships as a member of
  Phi Delta Theta and discovered his love of music and entertainment;
  through the years, he delighted in acting as DJ for any event and
  always knew exactly what to play to make everyone happy; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Clement embarked on a career with the Sonic
  Drive-In chain, and he was a member of the board of Lamar National
  Bank; giving generously of his time and expertise, he also served on
  the boards of numerous civic organizations, among them Denver
  Pyle's Children's Charities, the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce,
  the Lamar County Chapter of the American Red Cross, and the Boys &
  Girls Club of Paris, which included him on its Wall of Honor; he was
  a valued congregant of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and a
  third-degree knight in the Knights of Columbus; and
         WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Clement shared a
  fulfilling marriage of 26 years with his wife, Monica Homer
  Clement, and he was the proud father of three children, Avery,
  Mollie, and Adam; in his free time, he liked a good round of golf,
  but above all, he enjoyed helping others in any way he could; and
         WHEREAS, Eddie Clement lived a caring and purposeful life,
  and although he is deeply missed by those he left behind, they will
  forever cherish their memories of his warmth and kindness; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 87th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby pay tribute to the life of Eddie Garner Clement and extend
  sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
  Eddie Garner Clement.
