A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment to constitutionally dedicate |
|
|
certain revenue directed to the state highway fund for the purposes |
|
|
of acquiring, constructing, and maintaining public roadways. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 7-e to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 7-e. All revenue received from fees for permits for |
|
|
oversize or overweight vehicles that general law directs to the |
|
|
state highway fund may be used only to acquire, construct, and |
|
|
maintain public roadways. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment to constitutionally |
|
|
dedicate certain revenue directed to the state highway fund for the |
|
|
purposes of acquiring, constructing, and maintaining public |
|
|
roadways." |
