SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 26
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Gary W. Boyd retired as Gregg County commissioner |
|
|
for Precinct 3 in December 2020, drawing to a close an |
|
|
outstanding tenure that spanned a decade; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Initially appointed to the Gregg County |
|
|
Commissioners Court in 2010, Mr. Boyd was elected to four-year |
|
|
terms in both 2012 and 2016; among his many accomplishments in |
|
|
office, he worked to maintain a stable tax rate for residents |
|
|
while helping to build reserve funds for the county; moreover, he |
|
|
oversaw a wide range of roadwork improvements for Precinct 3, |
|
|
which has the most roads in Gregg County, and he guided |
|
|
beautification efforts and upgrades to green spaces, including |
|
|
Hugh Camp Memorial Park in Liberty City; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Boyd is retired from a career in the oil and |
|
|
gas industry, having served as owner and president of Ancor |
|
|
Services, Inc., and MasTec, Inc., and president of the |
|
|
Association of Energy Service Companies; deeply devoted to his |
|
|
community, he is a former Kilgore city commissioner and a Kilgore |
|
|
Independent School District board trustee, and he presided over |
|
|
the Kilgore Economic Development Corporation board; in addition, |
|
|
he is a current member of the Kilgore Community Development |
|
|
Corporation board; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Gary Boyd's dedication, professionalism, and |
|
|
commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the residents of |
|
|
Gregg County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his many |
|
|
contributions as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his |
|
|
life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby congratulate Gary W. Boyd on his retirement |
|
|
as the Precinct 3 commissioner of the Gregg County Commissioners |
|
|
Court and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Boyd as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
