SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 69
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Evelyn Ellison
 
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Evelyn Dailey
  Johnson Nehls Ellison were deeply saddened by her death on
  September 26, 2020, at the age of 103; and
         WHEREAS, The former Evelyn Dailey was born in Kelsey on
  August 20, 1917, to Kirby and Bethany Dailey; she grew up with the
  companionship of seven sisters, Pat, Ruth, Elvis, Deeny, Miriam,
  Maureen, and Faye, and a brother, Cecil; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Ellison raised six children, Douglas, Annette,
  Sandy, Dianne, Brenda, and Paul, with her first husband, Raymond C.
  Johnson, who preceded her in death; she was also predeceased by her
  second and third husbands, J. B. Nehls and Johnnie Ellison; with
  the passing years, Mrs. Ellison had the pleasure of seeing her
  family grow to include 12 grandchildren, Todd, Russell, Stacy,
  Darrellene, Terri, Chris, Tony, Kelli, Brandon, Britt, Bryce, and
  Eddie, and 30 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of deep faith, Mrs. Ellison was a devoted
  member of First Baptist Church in Gilmer and the Dorcas Sunday
  school class; she delighted in gardening, bird-watching,
  cooking, crocheting, quilting, and making ceramics; above all
  else, she treasured time spent with her family, and she often
  cheered on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at sporting
  events; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of more than a century, Evelyn
  Ellison lived a rich and purposeful life, and she will long be
  remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, hereby honor the memory of Evelyn Dailey Johnson
  Nehls Ellison and extend sincere sympathy to her loved ones; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Evelyn Ellison.
