Eddie Garner Clement |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Eddie Garner Clement, an esteemed member of the |
|
|
Paris, Texas, community and a friend to many, passed away on |
|
|
January 19, 2021, at the age of 55; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Ted Garner Clement and Carol Ann |
|
|
Clement, Eddie Clement was born on August 7, 1965, in Dallas and |
|
|
grew up in Duncanville with a sister, Eva; he completed his |
|
|
bachelor of business administration degree in management at The |
|
|
University of Texas at Arlington, where he made lasting |
|
|
friendships as a member of Phi Delta Theta and discovered his |
|
|
love of music and entertainment; through the years, he delighted |
|
|
in acting as DJ for any event and always knew exactly what to play |
|
|
to make everyone happy; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Clement embarked on a career with the Sonic |
|
|
Drive-In chain, and he was a member of the board of Lamar National |
|
|
Bank; giving generously of his time and expertise, he also served |
|
|
on the boards of numerous civic organizations, among them Denver |
|
|
Pyle's Children's Charities, the Lamar County Chamber of |
|
|
Commerce, the Lamar County Chapter of the American Red Cross, and |
|
|
the Boys & Girls Club of Paris, which included him on its Wall of |
|
|
Honor; he was a valued congregant of Our Lady of Victory Catholic |
|
|
Church and a third-degree knight in the Knights of Columbus; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Clement shared a |
|
|
fulfilling marriage of 26 years with his wife, Monica Homer |
|
|
Clement, and he was the proud father of three children, Avery, |
|
|
Mollie, and Adam; in his free time, he liked a good round of golf, |
|
|
but above all, he enjoyed helping others in any way he could; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Eddie Clement lived a caring and purposeful life, |
|
|
and although he is deeply missed by those he left behind, they |
|
|
will forever cherish their memories of his warmth and kindness; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Eddie Garner |
|
|
Clement and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his |
|
|
passing; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
|
this day, it do so in memory of Eddie Garner Clement. |
