SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 73
|
|
WHEREAS, After nearly three decades of exemplary service |
|
in law enforcement, Tim Scott retired as chief of the Big Sandy |
|
Police Department on December 31, 2020; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Tim Scott began his 18-year tenure with the Big |
|
Sandy Police Department as a night patrolman; sworn in as the |
|
chief of police in 2006, he was responsible for a number of |
|
important developments through the years, including overhauling |
|
the agency's operations and policies and implementing the use of |
|
body cameras; moreover, he kept the department up-to-date by |
|
establishing a fleet lease program and by securing more than |
|
$150,000 in grants for officer training and equipment; he retired |
|
as the longest-serving chief in department history; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Greatly admired by his colleagues for his skilled |
|
leadership, professionalism, and commitment to excellence, Chief |
|
Scott may indeed take great pride in all that he has done to |
|
protect and serve his fellow Texans as he embarks on the next |
|
exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|
Legislature, hereby congratulate Tim Scott on his retirement as |
|
chief of the Big Sandy Police Department and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
prepared for Chief Scott as an expression of high regard from the |
|
Texas Senate. |
